Representative Projects
Wind and Solar Projects, México. Princeton Energy Group is developing a 1000 MW wind and solar project in partnership with Asociados Panamericanos, Cableados Industriales, Intavan, and the Indigenous Community of Mission Santa Catarina in Baja California. Princeton affiliate Asociados Panamericanos was one of the original developers of a recently completed 67 MW wind project in the La Ventosa region of México, which supplies power to Grupo WalMart.
Wind Projects, Eastern Mediterranean. Princeton Energy Group recently completed a 12 MW wind project on the Çesme Peninsula in Turkey, in partnership with MAGE Mining and Electromechanical Industries and Trading Inc, and Sterling Energy Services, Inc. The project will serve a major industrial load in Turkey and further compliance with the country’s RPS. Princeton affiliate IWECO pioneered wind energy in the region with two projects in Greece in the early 1990s.
Innovation in Wind Turbine Technology and Manufacture. Princeton started and spun off Nordic WindPower, which deployed an innovative turbine design to reduce structural loads, mass, and cost. Princeton CEO Steve Taber served as CEO of the activity from startup in 2002 until 2009, taking it through three rounds of funding by Goldman Sachs and others.
Regional Economic Development - Nevada. Princeton started and spun off Energy Nevada as a public-private partnership to use renewable energy resources in northern Nevada as a tool to advance job growth and regional competitiveness.
Utility Energy Efficiency Programs. Princeton Energy Group has implemented a number of utility-scale energy efficiency programs. A Princeton affiliate was the only multiple bid winner in PG&E’s pioneering PowerSaving Partners program, wining four out of a total of eleven bids selected, implemented and operated from 1994 through 2007. Another Princeton affiliate implemented an innovative demand side management program in Texas between 1997 and 2009.
Energy Efficiency Retrofits. Princeton Energy Group has implemented dozens of cost-saving projects for its customers, including school districts, colleges, cities and counties, retail chains, and office buildings.
Innovation in Building Design. Princeton affiliate Taber Chaitin Associates led PG&E’s ACT2 (Advanced Customer Technology Test) Project for the commercial office sector, which set out to test the maximum energy efficiency which could be achieved cost-effectively. The project demonstrated in practice a fully cost-effective 80% reduction in energy use, in a ground-breaking building design.
